New York State, Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Water, Water Quality Grant
This grant provides funding for stormwater initiatives, based on state priorities, and other water-related work items. The HVRC has been fortunate to receive this grant for a number of years and over that time, has assisted all of the lower Hudson Valley counties with implementation of their water quality strategy in various ways. The County Water Quality Coordinating/Strategy Committees are the main vehicle in which assistance is given to a county.
As the HVRC is a member of the NYS Association of Regional Councils, another member agency hosts extensive information about the Statewide Water Resources Management Program. This type of grant many regional councils have been receiving and utilizing throughout New York State.
Current work: adult and kids educational brochure detailing water facts and other information, for use at public events; assist with 4-Hr DEC Mandatory trainings; and updating of multi-county mailing lists.
