Programs of the Council
United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA), 301(b) Planning Grant  - this grant provides funding to prepare a valuable planning document [2010-2011 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Report] for the federal government to use when determining Public Works project financing, and other related programs, for the Hudson Valley.  This program has brought in several millions of dollars for the valley.

New York State, Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Water, Clean Water Act, 604(b) ARRA Economic Stimulus Funding Grant Opportunity - this grant will provide for green infrastructure planning in several areas through the Hudson Valley (see link/page entitled Green Infrastructure).

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Water, 604(b) Planning Grant - this grant provides funding for stormwater initiatives, based on state priorities, and other water-related work items (see link/page entitled DEC WQ Grant).

New York State, Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Solid & Hazardous Materials, Bureau of Solid Waste, Reduction, & Recycling, NYS EPF grant for Hudson Valley Materials Exchange (HVME) Inc. - this grant provides funding for the HVME to pursue their waste reduction, recycling, and re-use program.

New York State, Department of Economic Development - three grants have been received in the recent past for work related to outreach and promotion of the 2010 Census.

New York State Data Center Affiliate - the HVRC is a designated data center affiliate and as such, we receive data regularly from the U.S. Census Bureau and New York State Data Center.  Our library of CDs and data books are available for public use.  Any needed copying of material is chargeable and subject to copyright law.

The HVRC Solid Waste Committee - is a committee comprised of members from the seven lower Hudson Valley counties, meets quarterly, and discusses ways to attain economies of scale on solutions to regional dilemmas.  Speakers of interest are invited to share knowledge, invite further discussion, and open avenues of opportunities.
